“The 5th Advanced Materials Research Seminar for Exchange Program between Gyeongsang National University (GNU) and Osaka University” was held at Memorial Hall of Materials Research, Osaka University on July 28, 2010.
GNU is one of the universities with which Osaka University has concluded academic exchange agreements on university-university basis. In addition, GNU is a partner university of our Global COE Program based on MOU with their Global Leader Development Center for i-Cube Materials and Parts. This series of seminar, which aims at exchange of views on advanced materials research, has been held annually alternately inviting researchers from both universities. This year, a delegation of 4 professors and 10 young scientists including doctoral students were invited to Osaka University to report results of their studies.
The seminar was comprised of oral session and poster session. The oral session started with an opening address by Prof. Kakeshita, the leader of the Program followed by four presentations from GNU and six from Osaka University. The poster session was held in the afternoon at Yamamoto Memorial Hall, where 10 young scientists from GNU and 11 doctoral students from Osaka University made presentations. At the get-together after the seminar, each young scientist from both universities had a lively exchange of views about their research activities. The seminar was fruitful success, having a total of 55 participants. The next seminar is expected to be held at Jinju, Korea.
