BASIC INFORMATION

- Date & Location: December 8-9, 2015, @ Downtown of Yokohama City (Next to China Town).
- Scope and Aims: Please refer to [PDF file] or [Webpage].
PROGRAM
- Final version of the program is available: [PDF]
- Please make sure where oral sessions and poster session will be held: They are different between 1st day and 2nd day.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REFEREES
- Please confirm the evaluation form that Yoshiya is going to send you.
- Please send it back to Yoshiya address by the end of the second day, even after all the oral session on the second day are finished.
- If you have no internet connection or difficulty to send the filled evaluation sheet by e-mail to Yoshiya, please contact me in advance.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHAIRPERSONS
- Please ask those who ask a question to identify themselves before the questions for better mutual understanding, but, not strictly, since the audience eventually memorize the questioners.
- Please ask those who ask a question to use a microphone.
- Please try to accomodate all the presentations you chair within the time frame of your session. Slight adjustments to allow intensive/extensive discussion are, of course, welcomed under your control.
- Please give any appropriate instructions and/or assistance to the presenters.
- When needed, please bridge a gap between presenters and audience.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INVITED/ORAL PRESENTERS
- Please make sure during break before your session that your computer has no problem with the projector equipped in the room. Here "session" means a block of presentations separated by breaks.
- 40 minutes or 20 minutes is given for an invited talk or an oral presentation, respectively, That includes the time for discussion. Thus, please leave approx. 5 minutes for discussion.
- Since schedule is tight, please strictly follow instructions given by chairpersons not to miss coffee during breaks during 10-minutes break.
- You are not allowed to take photos, video-recording, voice-recording, or such, unless you get a in-advance permission from the presenter. An exception: Students of an organizer will take photos according to the organizer's request. In that case, they will be careful not to include the contents of the presentation. That is only for the report in MRS-J News. Upon doing so, they will do so in a way not to confuse you as if they will secretly take those photos.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTERS
- Poster presenters are adviced to put their posters on the panels assigned to them just after registration. The venue for the poster session is in the same building as oral sessions on the first day and registration desk.
- Please remove your poster by the end of the first day.
CALL FOR SUBMISSION OF PAPERS (PROCEEDINGS)
- Presenters of this symposium is encouraged to submit their manuscript for publication in Trans. Mater. Res. Soc. Jpn. to present their studies on regular articles. Please note that any publication in this journal is no longer categorized as a proceedings paper, but a regular article in an academic journal, a periodical with quarterly publication.
- Especially, invited speakers are strongly encouraged to publish review papers, and submission charge will be exempted, with 25 copies of its reprint and a PDF file at free of charge. This enables the invited speakers to share their in-depth idea with other participants on a paper-basis.
- Although the webpage of the journal is now under renovation, it will be completed before long, I suppose.
- The journal joins J-STAGE, a system for academic journals offered by JST: [Table of Contents (Now recelt volumes only. Past volumes will be eventually added to archive.)]. Please refer to this pdf file, though it is available only in Japanese at the moment.
- Tentative deadline is the end of February, 2016, and submission afterwards will also be received for peer-reviewing for possible publication in the journal.
- As a rule of thumb, if a manuscript is accepted by February 20, May 20, August 20, or Nobember 20, then it will appear in the first, second, third, or fourth issue of the journal, respectively, though it depends on the number of accepted papers, needless to say.
- Masato Yoshiya is in charge for the papers related with this symposium as a Guest Editor.
- For details, please refer to the webpage of the journal.
Award for Students or Young Researchers
- Candidates are either students or young researcher, had his/her presentation in the symposium, and must apply for the award.
- Aproximately 10 % of candidates (about 4 candidates) will be nominated to Award Committee from this symposium following regulations for the award.
- No distinction will be made between oral presenations and poster presentations.
- For details, please refer to the regulations of MRS-J: [LINK] (only in Japanese).
