Four
departments in the School of Engineering Osaka University,
as well as 2 laboratories and 1 research center will
collaborate, each of which having the best research
level of the world in the fields of atomic level organization
control and materials development and nano-structure
analysis, device design, cutting-edge joining technology,
application process and industrial application, etc.,
to build the "Research Center for Advanced Structural
and Functional Materials Design". At this research
center, building of a consistent research and
development center for application materials spanning from
fabrication of new materials at atomic level to production
process
and joining technology development and materials application,
which could not be achieved individually so far, will
be carried out ahead of the world.
Specifically,
systemization of development, design and production
processes for aerospace materials, robots, functional
devices and materials for biological reconstruction
will be planned. In addition, as an integrated research
center to provide highly functional and highly reliable
materials by feeding back the
results from evaluation
of functional diagnosis and reliability of materials
performed using our Center's new materials reliability
analysis technology to new materials fabrication,
the above-mentioned 3 projects will be pushed forward
and research funds will be invested actively. |
